Supports the work of the Associazione Volontari Per Il Servizio Internazionale, a registered IPVO that was founded in Italy in 1972 to support human development in developing countries, with special attention to education and the promotion of the dignity of every person according to Catholic social teaching. AVSI-USA provides technical assistance to programs that address the needs of orphans and vulnerable children as well as to organizations working in the areas of child protection and deinstitutionalization. In addition, AVSI-USA has supported the rehabilitation of an orthopedic clinic in Uganda that provides care to victims of war and landmines.
